Here's what the women using and reading our discipleship books and attending our workshops are saying...

Two, Please! and God's Invitation to More Discipleship Book Comments:

Group Leader Response:

1. The great confidence the discipler has is in God to help and change the disciple. It is all about pointing and instructing, listening and trusting God to accomplish His good work. It is placing their hand in God's hand.

2. The instruction on communication and especially listening was very helpful to me. I have read it over several times and the Lord has used it in good ways.

3. Chapter 7 was great! The reminder of the Sabbath rest was a huge discussion and very helpful. Also the story of Hudson Taylor's struggle and victory was a great encouragement to all.

As a pastor's wife, it was incredible watching these ladies learn about discipling and all the time I fully understood that they were  discipling each other. The 4 of us build strong ties of love, confidentiality and trust in God and each other during our study. It was wonderful to watch the older believers love on and encourage one of our young believers. I watched God use the lessons in each life in relationship to their own personal circumstances and the timing and relevance was a great joy to see.

Group Participant's Responses:

1. This book gave good definitions, guidance and addressed many of the doubts I have about being an effective discipler.  The church many times doesn't equip a new Believer to steadily grow her love for the Lord, be progressively sanctified or perhaps fully answer questions that come up in her walk.  A discipler can't and shouldn't be the be all and end all for the disciple, but should always, always, always point the disciple to the Lord, "put her hand in Christ's hand."

2.  It's important for the disciple to not jump to conclusions about the disciple, her situation/problems and to not judge or be critical or feel superior to her.

3.  I guess I should have started with this last one.  We as mature Believers wanting to walk with Christ, be Christ-like and grow our love for God to love Him with all of our heart, all of our soul, all of our mind and all of our strength shouldn't be too busy to disciple a young believer, examples of wonderful disciplers in different situations with their disciples are all over the Bible for us to study and model.

As a group study attendee...this has greatly benefited my personal growth.  I've totally enjoyed being with my sisters, getting to know them much better and sharing life and Christ.

----

1. "I felt like the timing of this study was a God thing.  I moved into my neighborhood 2 years ago and have 100's of acquaintances but I am now ready to speak more boldly for my faith and accept it if I am rejected. I am a people pleaser so that is hard for me , but I do believe God wants me to build just a few meaningful spiritual relationships so that I can help others to know and follow Christ."

2. To realize that I do not have to be perfect and that God always forgives me is a major hurdle for me.

3. The section on being an active listener and give my full attention to others was very helpful.

----

1.  Not to be judgmental towards other people because they don't believe in the same things as me, have the same lifestyle or similar personalities. God puts people in our lives for his purpose. not ours. humble yourself.

2.  Wait on the Lord.  Trusting that He will do his work in you, around you and through you according to his will no matter how much you try or fail. He wants you to have a relationship with him. talk with him. pray to him. cry to him. laugh.

3.  Our family profile does not define who we are. God uses our circumstances for good. We are a testimony for others. Don't feel sorry for yourself if you didn't have a great childhood/family.

"The workshop was wonderfully conducted! Everything went so well. It was done very professionally but more than that, it was Spirit-led and Christ-centered! "Thank you for sharing your hearts - your passion for mentoring and modeling maturity in Christ to women who will someday make that difference in someone else (me).  Your words motivated and encouraged me! You taught me that maturity in Christ is truly measurable.  Thank you for inviting me."  - L.R., Tampa

"I work at a Christian college where we are called to be disciplers.  The Lord has brought students across my path who were looking to be discipled. But one of my fears has always been that I am inadequate and not prepared to disciple others.  Thank you for teaching me how to biblically and practically disciple another to maturity in Christ.  You have given me the encouragement and the tools I need to fulfill God's divine command."
- R.M., Clearwater

"I enjoyed the workshop so much! It had a great balance of Biblical and practical teaching.  I especially liked the hands-on case studies that helped me understand how to practically apply the truth from the Word to real people with real needs who are often in complicated situations." - J.P., Tampa

"The workshop has inspired me to embrace and act on discipling others."
- B.V., Tampa

"I am so glad I attended the workshop! God has used you to challenge and encourage me to step out of my complacent life to fulfill His call on my life to disciple others and glorify Him."
